We all know that when we urinate we eliminate the harmful toxins and excess fluids from the body. However, what you might not be familiar with is that the color of the urine, and its smell and density can say a lot about your health. Thus, we are here to tell you about some things about your urine that you need to watch out for.
What Does the Color of Your Urine Say About Your Health?
1. Foaming or Fizzy
If the color of your urine is foaming or fizzy it is probably just a harmless hydraulic effect and it could mean that there is excess protein in your diet, or a kidney problem. Nevertheless, you should definitely see a doctor if foaming happens all the time.
2. Blue or Green
If your urine color is blue or green, there is usually a rare genetic disease that causes this. Plus, some bacteria can also infect the urinary tract. However, it probably is some food dye from something you have consumed, or some medication. It is not deadly serious, however, you need to check in with your doctor if it does not go away.
4. Pink to Reddish
If you have not eaten beets, blueberries or rhubarb lately and if your urine is pink to reddish, it might mean that you have blood in it. It could also mean nothing, or it can be a sign of kidney disease, tumors, urinary tract infections, prostate problems or something else. You may even have mercury or lead poisoning.
5. Syrup or Brown Ale
This color in your urine means that you have liver problems, or that your body is dehydrated.
6. Amber or Honey
This color means that your body is exhausted and it needs water or liquids. You should drink water immediately because your body will dehydrate.
7. Dark Yellow
This is mainly normal, it just means that your body needs more water and fluids and you are a bit dehydrated.
8. Transparent Yellow
If your urine is this color, it means that your health is perfect and you should keep it that way.
9. Pale Straw Color
This is a very normal color. It means that you are also healthy and hydrated.
10. No Color (Transparent)
This means that your body has a large amount of water. You should lower the amount of water that you drink.
